A must for lovers of life, art and satire.

Carmina Burana premiered in Frankfurt in 1937. Eighty years later it continues to be played in concert halls around the world. Carl Orff's most famous work celebrates hedonism, pleasures, the joy of living... but it also shows a scathing criticism of society.

Based on some of the medieval poems, it reveals the traditional concepts of life and death in the Middle Ages.

Accompanied by Beethoven's 9th Symphony with its immortal Hymn of Joy, this powerful cantata has become a public favorite and one of the most performed classical musical works by international orchestras.
